CETEG, Cell Technology Group

CETEG offers services of animal/human cell culture-based process up to 20L bioreactor scale. The available services are development of animal cell based processes suitable for industrial production of biopharmaceutical (e.g. antibody, glycoprotein) in view of clinical phase manufacturing, glycoprotein production for the manufacturing of material for toxicological tests or as tool for research, etc.. Work according to GLP is provided when necessary.

CLICK – Center for Live Imaging of Cells at Karolinska Institutet

The CLICK light microscopy core facility at Karolinska Institutet offers access (for academic or industrial researchers) to advanced microscopy systems and image analysis workstations. We have confocal and widefield fluorescence microscopes, live cell systems, two-photon microscopes and several analysis software.

Clinical proteomics - mass spectrometry facility

The facility provides advanced analysis of proteins, peptides and metabolites using state-of-the-art molecular separation and mass spectrometry (MS) analysis technologies. The facility also functions as an educational and a resource center focusing on quantitative clinical proteomics. The MS-platform facility provides fee-for-service sample analysis as well as support to plan and perform larger in depth proteomics projects.

CMB Microscope Facility

The CMB Microscope Facility has five fluorescence microscopes for fixed tissues and live cell imaging. The microscope can be used by internal (CMB) users and external users (other KI departments or off campus).

Core Facility in Nanotechnology at Stockholm University (CorNa)

The Core Facility in Nanotechnology at SU (CorNa) was established by the Faculty of Natural Sciences at Stockholm University. It represents a joint effort of Departments of Physics and Materials and Environmental Chemistry to create an open and versatile research environment in the rapidly growing area of nano-science. CorNa unifies the exiting nano-fabrication and characterization facilities of materials and particles down to the atomic level: the nano-fabrication clean-room, NanoFabLab, at AlbaNova University Center (KTH+SU) and the Electron Microscopy Centre, EMC, at MMK-chemistry.

Desk-top magnetic susceptometer for rapid room temperature measurements

Our patented desk top suscepotometer is a rapid yet highly sensitive instrument for measuring the magnetic properties of nanoparticles, and is especially useful in biodiagnostics. Ability to carry out quick (in a time scale seconds) measurement of room temperature magnetic susceptibility components, i.e. change in the real and imaginary part of the magnetization at low external fields and as a function of frequency, is of importance for many applications.

Drug Discovery and Development Platform

The Drug Discovery and Development Platform was established at SciLifeLab in 2013, as a national Swedish infrastructure for academic drug discovery and development. We support integrated drug discovery and development projects utilizing the facilities and expertise within the platform – which represent a minimal toolbox for early drug discovery. We also offer services from the individual facilities in projects related to drug discovery and development to the Swedish research community.

Electron Microscopy Center, EMC

Electron Microscopy Center (EMC) at Arrhenius Laboratory provides modern facilities and expertise on electron microscopy and spectroscopy. EMC has four transmission electron microscopes, three scanning electron microscopes and a variety of sample preparation equipment. Besides supporting research and teaching activities at Stockholm University, the center is also open to other universities, research and industrial institutes. We offer comprehensive hands-on training for users to access our facilities.
