Description

The aim with Mentor4Research is to provide researchers without any previous experience in commercialisation with the possibility to, together with a business minded mentor:

  • get a deepened insight in the logics of industry and the commercialisation process
  • increase his/her contact points with industry
  • make a first evaluation of the commercial potential of his/her research.

A selected group of qualified academic researchers are allowed to each program. The business minded mentors have vast experience from industry, and are hand picked according to the needs and situation of each individual researcher. At the end of the program a stipend of 100 000 SEK is awarded to the researcher who has developed his commercialisation skills the most during the program.

The program is primarily for researchers interested in the very early stages of the commercialisation process.

The aim of the program is not to make bad entrepreneurs out of excellent scientists, but to increase the understanding and contact between scientists and professionals with long experience from industry.

The commercialisation of research results can have different starting points depending whether the research is of more applied or more basic nature, or if it is more problem than solution oriented.

Practical information

Researchers and scientists, from Ph D students to experienced professors, at universities and research institutes may apply to the program. The program is primarily for researchers interested in the very early stages of the commercialisation process - the program is positioned as a "catalyst for commercialisation".
